Researchers of the University of Córdoba (Spain, http://www.uco.es/internacional/extranjeros/en/) have analysed the governance processes of short food supply chains in order to determine their wider impact on people’s vulnerability to food system crises. This study, led by University of Cordoba researcher, Liliana Reina Usuga, with Professor Tomás de Haro from the College of Agricultural and Forestry Engineering and researcher, Carlos Parra-López, from Granada’s Institute of Agricultural and Fisheries Research and Training, reviewed how territorial short food supply chains can foster food democracy and sustainability by analysing how the coordination mechanisms of producers, coops & consumer groups can vary depending on the location, city or town.
