A very interesting article focused on a case study in Portugal has just been published by the CERNAS-IPV Research Centre in Viseu (Portugal): “Short food supply chains – a growing movement. The case study of the Viseu Dão Lafões Region” in Open Agriculture Volume 5, Issue 1 (2020).
This article analyses and discusses the short food supply chain movement in the Centre of Portugal, particularly in the Viseu Dão Lafões Region, showing the wide variety of SFSCs that exist in the region, the emergence of new forms of SFSCs (e.g. the agrifood baskets) and emphasising the environmental, economic, and sociocultural benefits of SFSCs that will have a positive impact on the well-being of producers, consumers, and/or on the whole region.
