On 13 November, Betty Chang from EUFIC presented the results of SMARTCHAIN expert stakeholders’ interviews at the EFFoST conference in Rotterdam. Results suggest that consumers buy SFSC products because of health and environmental benefits, a desire to support their local community, and a preference for tradition. However, there are some barriers to consumer engagement in SFSCs, namely the relatively higher price of SFSC products and the inconvenience of purchasing them. In this leaflet found here, you can find some ideas on how the different stakeholders can help to address these obstacles.
